Hi, I’m Miss Leana Reijers. I began my journey at Children’s House in 2021 as the PE teacher, bringing with me experience from teaching PE at a primary school in the Netherlands. Montessori education was a new experience for me, but I quickly grew to love it. Initially, I balanced my time between teaching and working at a restaurant until I decided to fully commit to education half a year ago.
Born and raised in the Netherlands, I spent a few formative years from 1997 to 2000 on the beautiful island of Aruba. My family and I fell in love with this island, and 21 years later, I fulfilled my dream of living here independently. I am currently enjoying my life in Aruba and especially my work at Children’s House.
Teaching children has always been my passion, and while my initial focus was on physical education, I found a new love for teaching within the classroom, specifically Dutch lessons. This shift in focus led me to become a full-time educator, dedicated to helping children learn and grow to the best of my abilities.
To further enhance my ability to support and understand my students, I became a child coach with expertise in child psychology. I find it fascinating to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world situations and see the positive impact on the children I work with. I am eagerly looking forward to continuing my journey at Children’s House, teaching both PE and Dutch lessons, and working closely with all our wonderful students. My goal is to make a meaningful difference in their lives through education and support.
