Upper Elementary Teacher

Hi, I’m Derlina Kock, a Montessori certified teacher for ages 9-12 since July 2022. My journey into education began early when I obtained my social work associate degree. During my internship, I discovered my passion for working with children, a path that became even more meaningful after the birth of my first child. This new chapter inspired me to delve into Montessori education.

I started working as an afterschool teacher at Nos Fortalesa Montessori and immediately fell in love with the Montessori philosophy. This passion led me to complete the teacher training program at the North American Montessori Center. By August 2022, I began my role as the Upper Elementary Teacher at Nos Fortalesa Montessori Children’s House. My journey continues with great excitement as I join Children’s House Montessori.

I am known for my innovative and creative teaching methods, which stem from a deep commitment to excellence in education and a genuine ability to connect with my students. I believe that these qualities are essential for fostering academic success and personal growth in every child.

Outside of teaching, I love to create sensory activities that engage children with hands-on materials, nurturing their curiosity and development. Crafting is another passion of mine, and for the past 11 years, I have been part of the largest party animation group in Aruba, Kerekentenchi Party Xplotion. This experience has allowed me to bring joy and creativity into my teaching practice, making learning a fun and enriching experience for all my students.
